Let’s face it.
No matter the reason you want cheap custom playing cards, we can all agree that they’re pretty darn AWESOME. You can use them for your business, with a branded logo on them (it’s a great way to stand apart from the competition!)
Or you could give them as a gift—who wouldn’t want to get a pack of playing cards with their face on the back for a present??
Or maybe you’re an artist who wants to go wild with your designs, and create a cool looking set of cards with your art on the back.
Whichever YOU are, you’re going to find everything you need to know in this blog post. Ready to get some cheap custom playing cards?
Let’s get started…
So, how do you make custom playing cards?
It’s actually really easy. There are three simple steps you need to take. First, come up with a great design (you might already have one!) Second, upload that design to a playing card builder website—they’ll handle all the technical stuff. Then simply place an order and the cards will be shipped right to you!
So, just to recap, here are the three simple steps you need to take:
Make Your Own Custom Playing Cards Step 1. Have a design
Hopefully, if you’re searching around for custom playing cards, you already have a design in mind! When I say ‘design,’ I really just mean whatever it is you want to put on the back of the cards—whether that’s a photo, some artwork, or a business logo.
Here’s how it works (and what you need to do to be prepared).
Most custom playing cards websites have simple tools you can use to sumbit your design, and by far the EASIEST way to do it is to make sure you have your design saved to your computer as an image. So if you’ve done the artwork on physical paper, you’ll need to either take a good picture of it or scan it in to your computer.
If you’re unsure on how exactly to do that, here’s a simple solution. Just send your photograph to the team and they will do all the technical bits FOR YOU. Click here to read more about that.
If you have a more ‘web-based’ design like a logo or photo, that makes your job even simpler. Just make sure the photo is on your desktop (or photo library) and simply click ‘upload’ and add it straightaway!
It really couldn’t be any easier, but if you still aren’t sure how it works—don’t worry! I’m about to cover that in Step No.2…
Make Your Own Custom Playing Cards Step 2. Upload it to the site
Here’s where things get interesting.
First of all, you’ll want to find a good website that specializes in creating custom playing cards. I highly recommend yourplayingcards.com.
Their website is easy-to-use, professional, and has all the functionality you need to create your own playing cards.
Here’s a simple step-by-step way to use yourplayingcards.com…
First, head to the homepage.
Click THIS LINK and you will be taken to the following screen:
So far so good, right? Now, click ‘CREATE YOUR ONE OF A KIND DECK HERE’
This should take you through to the ‘Live Builder.’ Don’t be intimidated if this looks confusing at first—it’s actually VERY easy to use. To get started, we need to decide on a LAYOUT. I really wouldn’t overthink this step—it looks like there are lots of options, but realistically they’re all going to look pretty similar when it comes down to it.
If you’re not sure what layout you actually want, I would strongly advise you to stick with just the regular layout that is already selected for you. It’s a safe bet and makes things much easier for you.
Now, click on ‘Image.’ This is the important step. By now, you should have the image you want to use saved to your device, for example:
Just hit ‘upload image‘ and choose your photo.
As you can see—my original image was a little too ‘square’ and so the sides were cut out, but you get the idea.
Once you’re satisfied with your image, you’re practically finished. You just have a couple more options to check through—for example, ‘text.’
This feature comes in handy for people who want to use their custom playing cards as business cards and so NEED the name of their business, or contact details on the card. You can easily add that using the ‘text’ function, but I imagine most people won’t need this step.
Final step…’save/order’
You’re done! All you need to do now is save your design, and then place an order to get them shipped out to you. To save your design, simply sign up to create your account for free, and then hit ‘save.’
You’re now ready to order! Congratulations!
What if I want to order more than one copy of the deck?
Well, you’re in luck. Not only is it incredibly easy to order more than one of your deck, it’s actually CHEAPER. That’s because—when you buy more than one, your whole order get discounted!
Make Your Own Custom Playing Cards Step 3. Receive Your Order
Once you’ve finished with the above step, your order should be on its way to you. While you’re waiting, here’s a cool idea for how you can use your playing cards once they arrive…
