Hey guys and welcome back to another magic lineup! Today we’re going to be exploring the world of the Best Marked Deck out there.
If you’re anything like me (and I hope for your sake you’re not completely like me) then you love easy, clever but mind blowing card tricks. Of course, it’s hugely satisfying to learn card sleights, memorize maths tricks or maybe truly manipulate someone’s mind yet sometimes there really is nothing quite like a good marked deck!
My father is a huge fan of marked decks, so at least we’ll have one reader out there!
- Marked Deck Number Five: Kings
- Marked Deck Number Four: Brooklyn 101 Back V2
- Marked Deck Number Three: DMC Elites Playing Cards
- Marked Deck Number Two: Butterfly Deck
- Marked Deck Number One: The Ultimate Marked Deck
Marked Deck Number Five:
Honestly, I had to put this deck in just because I really like how it looks. If any of you have watched Vikings or just like that classic feel to a deck then you’ll love the Kings marked deck.
There is a double-backer and two unique and personalised jokers, which I have to say look pretty dang cool.
Another unique thing about this deck is the box- looks just like a block of gold, so if you’ve ever wanted to be magic royalty then here’s the deck for you!
Marked Deck Number Four:
Brooklyn 101 Back V2.
Like all of the decks the marking on the Brooklyn 101 is completely invisible to the untrained eye. However the design on this one does make the idea that you could know what the card was seem almost entirely impossible.
The cards are smooth but controlled, soft but snappy, and are immediately a pleasure to handle right out of the box. I have to say maybe I’m a little biased with this one because I just really like Brooklyn… So anything with the place’s name on it has an instant appeal to me.
If you’re looking for a classic looking but affordable marked deck this is certainly a good choice for you!
Marked Deck Number Three:
DMC Elites Playing Cards
The DMC Elites: Rouge Marked Deck is the fifth signature deck produced for elite British magician Drummond Money-Coutts, and is in my eyes by far one of the coolest marked decks out there!
This deck features the use of the unique Optical Marking system, designed specifically for the use of close-up and cabaret performers. The unique thing about this deck is that you can see the mark from a great distance- up to six feet away!
Imagine that, you ask the spectator to take (unbenounced to them) the marked deck. They go through and pick any card they like, next they hold it out to you. From six feet away, you can tell exactly which card they picked. That’s quite the trick you’ve got there.
Marked Deck Number Two:
Conceptualised by Ondrej Psenicka and designed by Swedish graphic designer and magician Stefan Eriksson- this deck has to be one of the most beautiful out there. The back design is seriously stunning! Catching the audience’s eyes and surely distracting them from what you’re really doing.
A usual difficulty with marked deck is making a design that isn’t too cluttered, because of course you do have to hide the mark somewhere. The great thing about this deck is that it maintains it’s elegance while being easily read by any magician of varying skill levels.
Another thing I like is that this deck combines a whole range of effects- giving you a range of impossible magic to choose from.
I really advise you to click on this one! Even if it’s just to have a look at it- you won’t be let down trust me.
Marked Deck Number One:
The Ultimate Marked Deck
Well, if you know anything about marked decks you probably aren’t surprised to find this one right at the top! As beautiful and new as the other decks might be- they just don’t have the sellability of this deck.
What cards did we all use growing up? Or what cards are audiences used to seeing? Which cards do we all just simply trust? Bicycle Cards. So yes, you guessed it- this is the marked Bicycle Deck.
An easy reading system, beautiful authenticity and for a great price- what more could you ask for? Back in the day these decks would go for upwards of $100 on Ebay because people simply couldn’t get their hands on them. Well, here they are back again! And if you’ve been waiting to get a marked deck- I strongly advise you to go no further than the Bicycle Ultimate Marked Deck.

BONUS Marked Deck
Now, let’s talk about the ‘BONUS’ marked deck magic trick that is actually better than all the others on this list, and about 99% cheaper…
I’m cheating a little bit here, because this is actually a VIDEO training rather than a deck, but this simply means you can learn how to make your own marked decks without paying the full price!
Sounds too good to be true, right? The marked deck training resource also happens to be the one that’s practically free?
Well, it’s just as good as it sounds. Let me show you how.
Magician Jonathan Levit recently came to online magic club and training site Conjuror Community, where he shared exclusive training on the marked deck—including how you should go about making your OWN marked deck.
This training is only available to Conjuror Community members, but you can get a whole month of Conjuror Community for just $1…which means you can, for just $1, learn how to make as many marked decks as you want (rather than paying $5-20 for EACH one). That’s a pretty great deal.
Conjuror Community is an online magic club run by magicians Aaron Fisher and Adam Grace. Inside it, you’ll find loads of ‘training’ just like this one.
Plus – there’s a ton of other awesome benefits to being a member of Conjuror Community, like weekly Live Events, private Facebook group, over 120 exclusive tricks and tutorials, and much more!
