No magician’s toolkit is complete until they secure a high-quality magic wallet. But what are the best magic wallets?
There are lots of different factors to think about when deciding which magic wallet to buy.
In this blog post, I’m going to run through the top 10 magic wallets on the market— as well as a couple of fun honorable mentions!
This is just my personal opinion of course.
Ready?
Let’s get started!
What is a Magic Wallet?
A magic wallet is something that was invented by the Magic Wallet Company. It is a wallet that contains two card sleeves held together by elastic bands. By placing the money inside the wallet, closing it, and opening it from the corner, the elastics form an X over the cash which then securely holds it inside the wallet.
Magic wallets can be made from all sorts of materials including leather, faux leather, and other various types of fabric. One of the most important things about the magic wallet design is that it is minimalist meaning these wallets must fit easily in your pocket so that there shouldn’t be too much of a struggle when wearing different types of clothes. A lot of the designs are also very sleek and can be paired with a nice casual outfit or a fancy event.

Number 10 Pick: Useful Thingy Magic Wallet
Unlike the other magic wallets mentioned above, the Useful Thingy Magic Wallet only has four card slots and can hold up to a maximum of 8 cards, thus the slightly lower price. BUT not to worry because this magic wallet is MAGNIFICENT! It has a flawless compact size and aesthetics that make it ideal for business, casual, and formal attire. And as the name suggests this wallet is very useful.
PROS
- ELEGANT DESIGN – with black leather that is suitable for men, boys, and kids
- Quality elastic straps to hold bills securely
- 100% money-back guarantee for 30 days
- GIFT BOX INCLUDED
CONS
- Only 4 card slots
Number 9 Pick: Himber Wallet by TCC
This is the cheapest wallet on this list, but it’s still a great product. Using this simple yet ingeniously devised wallet, you can switch any flat object for another—or even make it vanish!
If wallet material is a deal-breaker for you, you might want to check out the other wallets on this list, as the Himber wallet is only made from artificial leather and so doesn’t boast the same high-quality look and feel as the others. But, if you’re on a budget, it’s a decent-looking wallet that unlocks thousands of potential routines!
Number 8 Pick: Real Man’s Wallet
This is a great wallet that can also double as your go-to ‘everyday’ wallet. That’s because it’s high quality and made to work exactly like an ordinary wallet.
This wallet isn’t as versatile as some of the others—you can only perform one type of routine with it—but it does that one routine VERY well. So if you’re buying a magic wallet for the sole purpose of performing the ‘card to wallet’ routine, this product is perfect for you.
Important Notice (READ BEFORE BUYING!): This wallet relies on the technique of ‘palming’ to accomplish the effect. If you’re skilled in palms, this is a great wallet. But if you don’t know how to palm yet, I wouldn’t recommend starting with this wallet. Instead, I would recommend the ‘BKM’ wallet (No.1 on this list) as it provides you with a ‘zero palming’ method.
Number 7 Pick: Jaime Jacobs Magic Wallet Flap Boy
This Magic Wallet is one of the best magic wallets on the market. This specific accessory is an elegant fashion statement that has a nice slim, minimalist style. The Flap Boy Magic Wallet is suitable for formal or casual attire and is made from premium leather which will keep its color over time and resist everyday wear and tear. The manufacturer even backs these magic wallets with a three-year warranty!
PROS
- Italian Crafted Leather Wallet
- Stylish Design
- RFID Blocking Technology
- Comes in a GIFT BOX
- MAGIC FLAP FEATURE
CONS
- Leather could become stretched over time – becoming too loose
Number 6 Pick: Shogun Wallet
Although this switching wallet is more expensive than the Himber wallet, it’s also a lot higher quality. As numerous reviewers have pointed out on various sites, it is beautifully made and looks exactly like a regular wallet.
You can perform just as many awesome tricks and routines as with the Himber wallet, but the main difference is this—when you pack up your show and go home, you still have a great REAL wallet. That’s what sets the Sho-Gun wallet apart; you’re paying for a real wallet that also doubles as a magic one (whereas with the Himber wallet, you’re paying for a trick wallet that doubles as a real one.) It’s a small distinction, but it makes a HUGE difference—and in my eyes, makes the price gap completely worth it.
Number 5 Pick: Jerry O’Connel Wallet
The ‘Plus Wallet’ takes the ‘card to wallet’ to the next level—a signed card vanishes and appears inside a sealed envelope inside the wallet!
If you have the budget to go for this wallet, and the technical skill to perform the routine, it’s a ‘must-have’ for me. The little bit extra you pay for the wallet will be repaid ten times over in the reactions you’ll get performing it.
After you master the ‘card to wallet’ routine, why not experiment with loading other signed objects like coins or business cards into this wallet? It’s a great way to add some variety to the routine and gives you an option for when you don’t have any cards on you.
Number 4 Pick: BKM Wallet
This is the number one ‘all-rounder’ of the magic wallets. It’s actually a combination of three different types of wallets in one; Balducci, Kaps, and Mullica (BKM.) The Balducci and Kaps methods rely on palming to accomplish the ‘card to wallet’ effect, whereas the Mullica version can be performed without ANY palming.
For this reason, I would recommend this wallet for someone who WANTS to learn the palming method but wants an easy method to fall back on if needed.
What do I mean by that?
For example, when you’re outperforming, you can choose whether or not to try the palming method. If you’re feeling confident enough to go for the palming version, you can use either the Balducci or Kaps method contained in this wallet.
But if it comes to it and you freeze up during the performance or get cold feet about palming, you can simply use the Mullica method and nobody will notice anything went wrong. Because this wallet is so adaptable, it allows YOU to adapt and change your method based on your needs at the time.
Number 3 Pick: The Weiser Wallet
The Weiser Wallet has been carefully crafted with high-quality leather to look like a gorgeous and modern hip-style wallet that can fit into your pocket.
Each one includes a plastic pocket inside that secures playing cards, money, or anything you want to change. There is also space for credit cards and business cards, and an added money clip on the front allows you to also easily carry predictions, cash, and much more.
With a special locking feature, The Weiser Wallet can be freely handled and cleanly shown without fear of the method being exposed. This is a HUGE advantage over standard Himber Wallets.
However, the true standout feature of The Weiser Wallet is undoubtedly the new instant flash change. This innovative addition allows you to perform the world’s easiest visual transformations. You can visibly change credit cards, money, or anything that will fit into your wallet (i.e. magically changing a $1 bill into a $100 bill).
Number 2 Pick: The Garzini Wallet
This magic wallet is made from high-quality leather with a matte finish. The Garzini brand has come up with their own design for their magic wallets – horizontal leather straps rather than crisscrossed elastic. This magic wallet contains double stitching, multi-layered bonded leather straps, and integrated silk to ensure longevity. Besides the extent of great construction, the Garzini’s thin minimalist magic wallet handles the actual storage beautifully. It has room for up to 10 flat cards plus cash and maybe a few extra items such as a business card, etc.
PROS
- RFID Protection
- Holds up to 10 cards + cash and whatever else you would like to try to fit
- PREMIUM Quality
- Gift Box – comes with an elegant gift box
Cons
- Can bulk up easily if there is a lot to put into the wallet
Number 1 Pick: FPS Wallet
The search is finally over!
The FPS Wallet isn’t just a magic wallet. It is designed to be your actual wallet, with room for your ID, credit cards, and cash. It also has RFID-blocking material that stops unwanted wireless scans to protect your credit card information. … So basically a slim, stylish, minimalist, modern magic wallet that you should carry with you everywhere.
However, it also carries a secret…
The key features of this wallet are:
- The perfect everyday carry card to wallet
- Made from 100% leather. Carbon fiber texture outside, smooth black leather inside
- RFID-blocking equipped
- 4 internal credit card slots & 1 easy-access outer credit card pocket
- Removable/repositionable steel money clip
- Clear ID window
- Fast & smooth loading system
- Super slim. You’ll barely notice it in your pocket
- Designed by Brent Braun
- Video instructions for Signed Card to Wallet & Borrowed ID to Wallet included
In the video instructions, Brent guides you through the features of the wallet, multiple ways to set it up & load it, and teaches you his real-world handlings of Signed Card to Wallet. Also included is Gregory Wilson’s dynamite routine where a borrowed ID appears inside your wallet.
Honorable Mentions:
Fire Wallet
Here’s a fun ‘extra’ wallet that is a guaranteed reaction machine. It’s a great wallet for opening up your performance as it’s very visual and fast. I would use it to grab people’s attention, and then move into a different routine.
Here’s the basic idea:
You remove an ordinary-looking wallet from your pocket and open it up. Out of nowhere bursts, a tower of real flames—and they continue to burn for a few seconds.
As fast as they appeared, they disappear as you shut the wallet. You can then open it up and display it to your audience, ‘proving’ that it really is an ordinary wallet.
CAUTION: This wallet is only available for magicians over 18, as it is highly dangerous if handled incorrectly.
Vegan Collection Magic Wallet – Hunterson
The Hunterson Vegan Magic Wallet hits the nice middle ground of magic wallets, using old-school construction, a very straightforward design BUT it is made of vegan leather! (Specifically, the material used is pineapple leaves!). This magic wallet has deeper pockets on the inside which creates a little more space and storage.
At first, this may not seem like a big deal BUT it completely changes the card-carrying game! This magic wallet holds up to 12 cards at once despite the wallet having only 4 exterior cards slots and 2 interior sleeves. The straps have also been strengthened to resist stretching, securing all of the accessories needed inside the wallet!
PROS
- VEGAN WALLET!!! – made of pineapple leaves
- Improve Magic Wallet – extra strength in elastics
- RFID Protection
- The Perfect Gift
CONS
- Can potentially get bulky if too many things are stored inside it
Which magic wallet is best for you?
It’s good you might ask this question, cause we are here to help! Here are 3 things to consider when choosing your Magic Wallet. Obviously, the price of the wallets and the type of effects you want to perform with them go without saying.
FIRST: Pockets –
Most magic wallets share a similar design but not all of them have the same number of pockets or card slots. The top-end models may be able to hold up to 16 cards while lower-end models may only hold up to 6. This has no effect on the quality of the product, it just means you won’t be able to carry too many things if the wallet lacks pockets. So, first, you have to decide how many pockets you think you may need!
SECOND: Design –
Magic Wallets have various designs from quirky designer models to fancy leather models. They come in an array of colors and styles so you must decide what fits best for you in regards to the color and design. If you’re aiming for a more classic choice, I say go for the leather wallet. If you are looking for a classic cheaper choice, the faux leather magic wallet is still sleek and charming while costing less. Now if you are looking for something different, fabric magic wallets are great for that, you can easily pick a designer wallet with a bold design!
THIRD: RFID Protection –
RFID Protection is very important when choosing your magic waller. Modern thieves have adapted to the new technologies and know-how to retrieve data stored on cards or ID’s. Which is kind of scary BUT when choosing a magic wallet luckily most designs contain RFID-blocking technology, which means the wallets prevent the scanning of cards or ID’s or any other important documents held in your wallet. We recommend finding a secure wallet like this but if it is something you’re not interested in, in a magic wallet there are still designs for you!
Magic Wallet vs Real Wallet
As you might have noticed, most of these wallets can also double up as real, every day, wallets. I like this feature, but some magicians might prefer to keep their bank cards and private information separate from the wallet they use heavily during shows and performances.
If that’s you, there’s nothing wrong with opting for a cheaper wallet like the Himber wallet for your magic purposes and devoting the rest of your budget to a high-quality ordinary wallet for real use.
More than one?
Most magicians own a combination of the wallets above. As you might have noticed, most of them are built either for switching or performing the ‘card to wallet’ effect. So, if you want to be able to do both, you need one of each.
And what if you want a magic wallet that does something completely different from switching or loading?
Mentalists often use ‘peeking’ wallets—custom-made wallets that allow them to catch a glimpse of items placed inside them.
For example…
The mentalist asks their spectator to write down the name of a city on a piece of paper. That piece of paper is then placed inside the wallet, apparently ‘out of sight’. However, without the spectator realizing, the mentalist is able to ‘peek’ at the paper (thanks to the wallet) and read the name of the city. They can pretend to be ‘reading the mind’ of the spectator.
If you think that sounds like a useful wallet, you might like the ‘Telethought’ wallet or products like the ‘Sight Unseen Case’.
And obviously Choosing your favorite effects!
